This study analyzes Maimun Palace as a cultural heritage site and educational tourism destination in Medan City. It examines its historical and cultural values, its role in preserving Malay Deli heritage, and its contribution to educational tourism. The study used a descriptive qualitative approach. Primary data were collected through interviews with T. Nuhzatul Syima Delikhan (Tengku Puteri Seri Kemala) from the Deli Sultanate family and Dayana Sabila, a university student visitor. Secondary data came from legal documents, official cultural and tourism sources, books, and scholarly articles. The findings show that Maimun Palace has significant historical and cultural value as a legacy of the Deli Sultanate and a national cultural heritage site under Decree No. PM.01/PW.007/MKP/2010. Its values include Malay Deli identity, the history of the Deli Sultanate, distinctive architecture combining Malay, Islamic, Indian, and European influences, and cultural memory within the community. The palace preserves heritage through the maintenance of buildings, collections, and traditions. It also supports educational tourism by introducing visitors, students, and tourists to Malay Deli history and culture. However, management, maintenance, institutional cooperation, guided tours, and interpretive media require improvement. The study recommends stronger collaboration, sustainable preservation, improved educational facilities, and youth participation.
