Abstract

Abstract Milk production in dairy cattle is influenced by several factors, including barn microclimate conditions such as air temperature and relative humidity. Environmental conditions outside the comfort zone of dairy cows may cause heat stress which can reduce milk productivity. This study aimed to analyze the effect of barn microclimate conditions represented by air temperature, relative humidity, and Temperature Humidity Index (THI) on the milk production of Friesian Holstein dairy cows. The research used a quantitative descriptive approach through direct observation of barn microclimate conditions and recording of daily milk production. The observed parameters included air temperature, relative humidity, THI values, and milk production per cow per day. Data analysis was carried out using descriptive analysis and multiple linear regression to determine the relationship between microclimate variables and milk production. The results showed that barn microclimate conditions at certain times were categorized as mild to moderate heat stress, with THI values approaching or exceeding the comfort threshold for dairy cows. However, the analysis indicated that variations in air temperature, relative humidity, and THI did not significantly affect the milk production of Friesian Holstein dairy cows. Milk yield remained relatively stable and was more influenced by other factors such as management practices, feeding, and the lactation stage of the animals. Therefore, proper management of barn microclimate remains important to maintain animal comfort and support stable milk production... Results: Provide a brief summary of the results and findings. Key words: animal comfort; dairy productivity; heat stress; humidity; temperature rief summary of the results and findings.
