This study aims to analyze the reinterpretation of the basic concept of profession among Generation Z in facing the contemporary world of work in the digital era, particularly regarding changes in the meaning of professionalism, competence, and adaptability to technological advancements. This research is important because the increasingly dynamic nature of the workplace demands a new understanding of professional concepts. Furthermore, the study seeks to bridge the gap between traditional work values and the adaptive characteristics of Generation Z amid ongoing digital transformation. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through social phenomenon observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings indicate that Generation Z perceives professionalism not merely as technical competence but also as encompassing digital literacy, flexibility in the workplace, collaboration, creativity, adaptability, and work-life balance. Digital transformation has shifted professional orientation toward a more dynamic and multidimensional perspective that aligns with the demands of the modern workforce. These findings contribute a new perspective on the concept of profession relevant to Generation Z and provide valuable references for the development of education and professional competencies in the future.
