Objective: This study aims to map trends in research on innovative leadership within modern organizations, examine the factors determining its effectiveness, and summarize its impact on organizational innovation using a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach. The PRISMA 2020 guidelines were employed to ensure the literature review process was systematic, transparent, and replicable. Data were gathered from several international scholarly databases—Scopus, ScienceDirect, SpringerLink, Emerald Insight, and Google Scholar—focusing on articles published between 2021 and 2025. The results indicate that innovative leadership is a strategic element in maintaining organizational sustainability and competitiveness amidst digital transformation and dynamic business environments. Organizational culture, digital transformation, knowledge sharing, employee engagement, and learning orientation were identified as dominant factors determining the effectiveness of innovative leadership. Innovative leadership also contributes significantly to enhancing innovative work behavior, strengthening the culture of innovation, improving organizational adaptability, and boosting organizational performance. These findings underscore the need for modern organizations to adopt flexible, adaptive, and innovation-oriented leadership styles to build sustainable competitive advantage.
