This study analyzes the effect of Civic Education on the Prevention of Hoax Dissemination, with Digital Literacy as a mediating variable among Vocational High School students. Using a quantitative approach and explanatory research design, the study was conducted at SMK Swasta GKPI 1 Pematangsiantar. The population involved 120 eleventh-grade students, with 92 respondents selected via the Slovin formula and proportional stratified random sampling. Data was collected using Likert-scale questionnaires adapted to research indicators. Data analysis utilized the Partial Least Squares - Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) via SmartPLS. The measurement model evaluation ensured all indicators fulfilled validity and reliability standards. Results indicate that Civic Education has a positive and significant direct effect on Digital Literacy and Hoax Prevention. Furthermore, Digital Literacy significantly mediates the effect of Civic Education on Hoax Prevention with a partial mediation pattern. The novelty lies in integrating the civic character pillar as a moral compass and digital literacy as a technical filter, empirically forming a comprehensive defense system for students against disinformation in the digital space.
