This pre-experimental study, utilizing a One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design, was motivated by the low level of conceptual understanding regarding cultural diversity among fourth-grade students at SD 6 Jekulo a result of limited conventional learning media and monotonous instruction. The core issue stems from the difficulty elementary-aged students face in grasping abstract cultural concepts. This research aimed to analyze differences in cognitive conceptual understanding and to measure the effectiveness of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model supported by the "Jelajah Budaya Nusantara" (Archipelago Cultural Exploration) educational board game. A saturated sampling technique was employed, involving all 19 fourth grade students. Data were collected via written tests, observation, and documentation, and subsequently analyzed using the Paired Sample T-Test (a parametric test) in SPSS 25. Statistical results revealed a significant increase in the average conceptual understanding score, rising from 67.68 to 84.53 (t = -6.230; Sig. 0.000 < 0.05). The Normalized Gain test yielded an average score of 0.5025, placing it in the moderate category. This improvement in cognitive achievement was most pronounced in the indicators of providing examples and classification. The study concludes that integrating the problem-based learning model with educational board game media effectively transforms the classroom environment into an interactive setting and facilitates the concrete thinking processes characteristic of elementary school students.
