This study aims to describe the use of figurative language in the song lyrics of the album Kereta Kencan by HIVI! and its relevance as teaching material for poetry in vocational high schools. This research employs a descriptive qualitative method with a stylistic approach. The data consist of lyrics from nine songs in the album, which were analyzed using document analysis techniques. The results show that various types of figurative language are used, including comparison (metaphor, personification, simile, allegory), repetition (assonance, anaphora), contradiction (hyperbole, irony, satire), and association (synecdoche). Metaphor and assonance are the most dominant types found in the lyrics. The use of figurative language functions to enhance aesthetic value, strengthen meaning, and create emotional effects for listeners. Furthermore, the findings are relevant as teaching materials for poetry in vocational high schools, as they help students understand diction and figurative language contextually through media that are close to their daily lives, namely songs.
