The purpose of this study is to study the role of pesantren leaders in the decision-making process and how this role has an impact on improving the quality of education at the Mambaul Ulum Islamic Boarding School in Kubu Raya Regency. This research uses a qualitative approach with a type of field research, through data collection techniques in the form of observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Studies show that pesantren leaders have a strategic role as decision-makers based on religious, moral, and social in addition to administration. Various aspects of pesantren are involved in the decision-making process in a participatory manner through deliberation. It also includes experiences, information, and contextual conditions. To improve the overall education of Islamic boarding schools, the quality of leadership in decision-making is essential to improve the quality of education. This includes the development of an integrative curriculum, improving the quality of educators, building the character of students, and establishing a disciplined and conducive learning environment.
