<![CDATA[THE EFFECT OF INQUIRY BASED LEARNING MODEL ON STUDENTS’ ACTIVE PARTICIPATION IN IPAS SUBJECT The low level of students' active participation in IPAS learning was the main problem of this study. The objective of this research was to analyze the effect of the Inquiry Based Learning model on students' active participation in the IPAS subject at grade IV MI Assidiq Pasirtengah. This study employed a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design. The research subjects consisted of 33 fourth-grade students selected using saturated sampling technique. Data were collected through observation of students' active participation using an observation sheet consisting of 16 descriptors that had been validated by experts. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test, effect size test, and N-Gain test. The results showed an increase in the average score of students' active participation from 29.54 (pretest) to 45.39 (posttest), with an increase of 15.85 points or 53.5%. The Wilcoxon test showed a Z value of -5.016 with a significance of 0.000 (p < 0.05), confirming a significant difference between the pretest and posttest. The effect size value was 0.87 (large effect category) and the N-Gain was 0.46 (medium category). All 33 students (100%) experienced an increase in scores, with the highest increase occurring in the indicator of the ability to present results (59.8%). Accordingly, the Inquiry Based Learning model proved to be effective and had a large effect in increasing students' active participation in the IPAS subject at grade IV MI Assidiq Pasirtengah, and thus is recommended as an alternative learning innovation in madrasah ibtidaiyah.]]>
