Abstract

Pakuan Village, located in Narmada District, West Lombok Regency, has considerable potential for cocoa cultivation. However, the local community mainly sells cocoa beans, resulting in limited added value. In fact, cocoa can be processed into products with higher economic value, such as chocolate bars. This community service activity aimed to improve the knowledge and skills of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in processing cocoa into chocolate bars. The program was implemented through socialization, demonstrations, hands-on chocolate bar production practice, and evaluation using post-test and post-test. The results were analyzed descriptively by comparing the participants' average post-test and post-test scores. The activity was conducted in two training sessions, namely on 21 July 2026, attended by 15 participants, and on 1 August 2026, attended by 6 participants. The training materials covered the potential of cocoa, the tools and ingredients required, and the stages of chocolate bar production. The evaluation results showed a significant improvement in participants' knowledge, with the average post-test score increasing from 53.33 to 83.33 in the post-test, indicating a 30-point increase in understanding after the training. All participants successfully practiced each stage of chocolate bar production according to the training sessions conducted. The participants also demonstrated high enthusiasm throughout the training and were able to complete every stage of the production process. This activity provided new insights into the importance of increasing the added value of agricultural products through processed product innovation. Therefore, the training successfully enhanced participants' knowledge and skills in processing cocoa into products with higher economic value.
