<![CDATA[This research was motivated by the low writing skills of students in composing biographical texts, as indicated by unsatisfactory learning outcomes, lack of concentration in generating ideas, and limited understanding of structure and linguistic conventions. To address these issues, the study implemented the discovery learning model assisted by audiovisual media with the aim of examining the implementation process, students’ responses, and the effectiveness of the approach in improving biographical text writing skills. The research employed a mixed-methods approach with a sequential exploratory design, combining qualitative analysis in the initial stage through observations and questionnaires, followed by quantitative data collection through achievement tests. The subjects of the study consisted of 25 tenth-grade students at MA AN-NUR Cikalongwetan. The findings revealed an increase in the average score from 69 (pre-test) to 82 (post-test). The Wilcoxon test yielded a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05, indicating a significant difference between pre-test and post-test results. The level of mastery improved from 38% to 100%. Student responses were also positive, with questionnaire scores reaching 80% (categorized as “very good”). Thus, the application of discovery learning assisted by audiovisual media proved to be effective in enhancing students’ skills in writing biographical texts.]]>
