<![CDATA[The escalating global environmental crisis demands Qur’anic interpretations that effectively address contemporary ecological challenges. As the Qur’an often conveys its ecological messages implicitly, contextual interpretation is required to reveal its universal relevance. Using a descriptive-analytical library research design, this study applies Abdullah Saeed’s contextual hermeneutics. Saeed’s four-stage framework was selected over Fazlur Rahman’s double movement theory and Amina Wadud’s hermeneutics due to its granular analytical pathway, which integrates classical and contemporary exegesis, linguistic analysis, qirā’āt, mufradāt, literary context, and socio-historical backgrounds. The findings demonstrate that the Qur’an goes beyond encouraging earthly stewardship by assigning humans an ethical responsibility to maintain ecological balance and environmental sustainability. Based on these insights, this study proposes Eco-Civilizational Resonance Tafsir—an interpretive model that aligns Qur’anic ecological principles with environmental ethics, social responsibility, and sustainable development, thereby contributing to contemporary Islamic environmental discourse and ecological transformation.]]>
