<![CDATA[Used cooking oil is a household waste that can potentially pollute the environment if not properly managed. One alternative for its utilization is to convert used cooking oil into soap through saponification using local materials such as lemongrass (Cymbopogon citratus (DC.) Stapf). This community service activity aimed to describe the implementation of socialization and training on soap making using used cooking oil and lemongrass and to determine changes in students' knowledge after participating in the activity. The activity was conducted at SMA Negeri 7 Kota Bekasi through pretest, material delivery, hands-on soap-making practice, and posttest stages. The evaluation results showed that the mean student knowledge score increased from 67.86 in the pretest to 87.14 in the posttest. Improvement occurred across all indicators, particularly in students' understanding of the materials, soap-making process, and saponification concept. The activity also provided contextual learning experiences related to waste management, local biodiversity utilization, and ecopreneurship. Socialization combined with hands-on practice in making soap from used cooking oil and lemongrass can serve as a relevant educational approach to improve students' knowledge while fostering environmental awareness and appreciation of local plant resources.]]>
