Chronic kidney failure is a condition of progressive decline in kidney function so that the kidneys cannot maintain the body's internal environment, causing the kidneys to be unable to filter the body's metabolic waste products by themselves. Therefore, patients with chronic kidney failure survive by undergoing hemodialysis, which has a serious impact on the individual's quality of life, social life, financial, and psychological well-being. This research aims to determine the relationship between social support and perception with the quality of life of chronic kidney failure patients during hemodialysis at Langsa Regional Hospital. The research method used is quantitative with a correlative analytical design. Sample selection in this study used non-probability sampling with a total sampling technique. The results of the study based on the chi-square statistical test on social support with quality of life obtained a p-value of 0.536 (α>0.05), meaning there is no significant relationship, while perception with quality of life obtained a p-value of 0.006 (α<0.05), meaning there is a significant relationship between variables. Social support, especially from family, can reduce stress, strengthen physical condition, and increase patient motivation in undergoing hemodialysis. Patients who accept their condition, comply with it, and experience the benefits of hemodialysis can improve their physical, psychological, and social functioning. Conversely, negative perceptions or anxiety created by the patient's thoughts can reduce their quality of life.
