Using motivation as a moderating variable, this study explores the relationship between competence, work discipline, work-life balance, and employee effectiveness at the Sumatra Regional Forestry Law Enforcement Center. Improving employee performance is crucial for efficient organizations and better public services. Conducted within the center responsible for enforcing forestry laws, the study uses quantitative methods. All employees participated through sampling. Data was gathered via field observations, surveys, and documentation. Multiple linear regression and Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA) assessed motivation’s moderating effect. Results show work-life balance, competence, and discipline significantly enhance performance. Motivation positively impacts these relationships, leading to improved performance. The study enriches human resource management literature and offers practical insights for policy formulation to enhance organizational performance.
