Numeracy literacy is an essential competency that should be developed from the elementary school level to support students' thinking and problem-solving skills. One of the approaches widely used to improve this competency is Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). This study aimed to identify research trends, analyze the characteristics of STEM implementation, and evaluate the effectiveness of the STEM approach in improving elementary school students' numeracy literacy. This study employed a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method. Data were collected by searching articles published between 2021 and 2025 in Google Scholar using Publish or Perish and the Scopus database. The selected articles were then analyzed through article screening, data extraction, data synthesis, and descriptive analysis. The results showed that seven articles met the inclusion criteria. Research publications increased in 2025 and were predominantly conducted using a quasi-experimental design. The implementation of STEM evolved into various approaches, including STEM, STEAM, and Digital STEAMIL, supported by diverse instructional media, while most studies involved fifth-grade elementary school students as research participants. All reviewed studies consistently demonstrated that the STEM approach effectively improved students' numeracy literacy. Therefore, the STEM approach has the potential to serve as an effective learning alternative for enhancing numeracy literacy among elementary school students.
