An Analysis of an Islamic Cultural History Textbook for Madrasah Aliyah: A Comparative Study Using a Multicomponent Approach

This study aims to analyze the Grade X Islamic Cultural History (ICH) textbook for Madrasah Aliyah, focusing on Chapter 1, The Development of Islam during the Prophet Muhammad's Meccan Period. The analysis examines five textbook components: content, linguistic, presentation, thematic, and evaluation. This study employed a qualitative library research approach. Data were collected through documentation by examining the textbook as the primary source, supported by relevant scholarly literature. Data were analyzed using the interactive model of Miles and Huberman, consisting of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing and verification. The findings indicate that the textbook is generally aligned with the Madrasah curriculum and the characteristics of Islamic Cultural History education. Nevertheless, several weaknesses were identified.
