Learning discipline is one of the key factors contributing to students' academic success. However, some students continue to demonstrate low levels of learning discipline, as reflected in their noncompliance with school regulations, tendency to procrastinate on assignments, and lack of concentration during the learning process. This study aimed to examine the effectiveness of group counseling based on the Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) approach in improving the learning discipline of eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 106 Jakarta. A quantitative approach with a one-group pretest–posttest quasi-experimental design was employed. The participants consisted of seven students selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using a learning discipline questionnaire and analyzed using a paired-samples t-test. The results showed that the mean learning discipline score increased from 65.57 on the pre-test to 106.14 on the post-test. Statistical analysis revealed a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05), indicating a significant difference between students' learning discipline before and after the intervention. These findings suggest that group counseling based on the Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) approach is effective in improving the learning discipline of eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 106 Jakarta.
