Mathematics learning in elementary schools continues to face challenges in fostering students' social skills while improving their academic achievement. This condition highlights the need for instructional models that integrate collaborative learning activities with local wisdom-based media to create more meaningful learning experiences. This study aimed to examine the effectiveness of the Numbered Heads Together (NHT) learning model assisted by sokok telur local wisdom-based media in improving the social skills and mathematics achievement of second-grade elementary school students. The study employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental method with a posttest-only control group design. The population consisted of 122 students, from which a sample of 33 students was selected through random sampling. Data on social skills were collected using an observation checklist, whereas mathematics achievement was measured using an objective test. The data were analyzed using Multivariate Analysis of Variance (MANOVA). The findings revealed that the implementation of the NHT learning model assisted by sokok telur local wisdom-based media significantly improved students' social skills (F = 95.34, p < 0.05), mathematics achievement (F = 11.06, p < 0.05), and the combined outcomes of social skills and mathematics achievement (F = 46.24, p < 0.05). These findings indicate that integrating cooperative learning with local wisdom-based media is an effective instructional strategy for enhancing students' social development and mathematics achievement. Therefore, this learning model has the potential to serve as an innovative alternative for mathematics instruction in elementary schools.
