<![CDATA[This study aims to analyze library management in improving students' reading interest at SMP Negeri 6 Batang Hari. The study employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive research design. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation involving the head of the library, library staff, and students as research informants. Data was analyzed through data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing, while data credibility was strengthened through source and technique triangulation. The findings indicate that library management has been implemented through planning, organizing, actuating, controlling, and evaluation functions. Planning involves identifying collection and facility needs and developing programs that support school literacy activities. Organizing is carried out through collaboration between the head of the library and staff, although they do not have formal educational backgrounds in library science and also have teaching responsibilities. Implementation includes collection procurement, inventory, shelving, maintenance, and book circulation services. However, library management has not yet been optimal in improving students' reading interest. This is reflected in the limited availability of reference books and recreational reading materials, the relatively small library space, manually administered services, limited library personnel, and low student visitation, averaging only three to six students per visit. The study concludes that strengthening library collections, improving staff competence, enhancing services and facilities, and developing student-oriented literacy programs are necessary to optimize the library's function as a learning resource center and a means of developing students' reading interest.]]>
