<![CDATA[Stunting is a growth failure caused by chronic malnutrition and remains a public health problem in Indonesia, including in the working area of Puskesmas Basirih Baru with a relatively high prevalence. This study aimed to analyze the effect of birth weight, birth length, exclusive breastfeeding, and infectious diseases on stunting risk among children aged 24–59 months in the working area of Puskesmas Basirih Baru, West Banjarmasin District. This study was conducted from January to February 2026 using an analytical observational design with a case-control approach. Meanwhile, the research sample utilized a 1:1 case-control ratio, consisting of 41 stunted toddlers and 41 non-stilted toddlers. Data were collected through questionnaires and public health center reports, then analyzed using chi-square and logistic regression tests. The results showed that most children in the case group had low birth weight (65%), low birth length (66.7%), exclusive breastfeeding history (54%), and frequent infectious diseases (64.5%). Only infectious disease history was significantly associated with stunting (p=0.040; OR=2.597; 95% CI:1.032–6.538). Infectious disease history was identified as a factor affecting stunting risk.Prevention of infectious diseases through clean and healthy living behavior, immunization, and routine health monitoring is needed to reduce stunting risk.]]>
