<![CDATA[The rapid advancement of digital technology requires students to develop digital literacy competencies to navigate various challenges in the digital environment, including misinformation, cyberbullying, online scams, and unethical social media practices. This article aims to describe and evaluate the effectiveness of the Digital Literacy and Responsible Social Media Awareness Program implemented as part of the Universitas Negeri Malang Belajar Bersama Masyarakat (UM BBM) community engagement program at SMP Unggulan Roudlotussaidin, Pandansari Lor Village, Jabung District, Malang Regency, Indonesia. The program employed a participatory educational approach consisting of a pre-test, interactive learning sessions, group discussions, ice-breaking activities, and a post-test. The activity involved 31 students, while data analysis was conducted on 29 participants with complete pre-test and post-test records. Descriptive statistical analysis was used to compare participants' scores before and after the intervention. The findings indicate an improvement in the average score from 43.9% in the pre-test to 56.9% in the post-test, with 21 students (72.4%) demonstrating improved performance. These results suggest that the participatory educational approach effectively enhanced students' understanding of digital literacy, responsible social media use, and digital safety. Therefore, similar programs are recommended to be implemented on a sustained basis with longer instructional duration and learning materials tailored to students' educational levels and needs.]]>
