Diabetes mellitus is a metabolic disorder characterized by elevated blood glucose levels. The incidence of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM) in children and adolescents is increasing alongside rising obesity and sedentary lifestyles. Early detection of T2DM risk in adolescents is important and can be performed using the non-invasive FINDRISC (Finnish Diabetes Risk Score). This study aimed to determine risk prevalence and identify determinants of T2DM risk among adolescents. A descriptive analytic cross-sectional design was used in adolescents from the Diploma III Nursing Program in Tegal, with 153 participants selected using the Gay & Diehl approach. Data were collected using the FINDRISC questionnaire and analyzed with descriptive statistics, chi-square tests, and multiple logistic regression. The prevalence of low risk was 69% (n=106), slightly elevated risk 27.5% (n=42), and moderate risk 3.5% (n=5). Factors associated with increased risk included BMI, waist circumference, physical activity, fruit and vegetable intake, and family history. The most dominant factor was family history (OR = 16.89). FINDRISC is effective for identifying at-risk adolescents.
