Digital transformation has driven changes in the operations of micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs), including in the use of digital payment systems. This study aims to synthesize the literature on the relationship between the adoption of digital payments and the financial performance of MSMEs in Indonesia, as well as to identify the factors that support and hinder their adoption. The study employs a literature review method with a qualitative descriptive approach through the identification, comparison, and synthesis of relevant prior research. The analyzed literature covers discussions on QRIS, e-wallets, financial literacy, financial knowledge, perceived ease of use, perceived benefits, perceived risk, sales performance, business performance, and financial performance. The results of the synthesis indicate that digital payments can support ease of transactions, payment flexibility, sales activities, and the financial performance of MSMEs. However, their utilization is influenced by financial knowledge and literacy, ease of use, perceived benefits, perceived risks, and the readiness of business owners. Therefore, the optimization of digital payments must be accompanied by improvements in digital capabilities and financial literacy to provide sustainable benefits for MSMEs.
