Arabic language learning plays an important role in Islamic education; however, students’ speaking skills often remain low due to limited opportunities for active language practice and the lack of innovative learning media. This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of the Snowball Throwing learning model assisted by animated video in improving Arabic speaking skills among eighth-grade students at MTs Islam Al-Ihsan Pegambiran, West Pasaman. This research employed a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental design using a One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The research sample consisted of 22 eighth-grade students selected through total sampling. Data were collected using an oral speaking test and analyzed using descriptive statistics, normality test, Paired Sample t-Test, and N-Gain analysis with the assistance of SPSS. The results showed an increase in students’ speaking skills, indicated by the mean score improvement from 50.55 in the pretest to 79.50 in the posttest. The Paired Sample t-Test result showed a significance value of 0.000 (<0.05), indicating a significant difference before and after treatment. The N-Gain score of 0.5804 (58.04%) indicated a moderate improvement level with sufficient effectiveness. Therefore, the integration of the Snowball Throwing model with animated video can be considered an effective alternative for enhancing Arabic speaking skills.
