<![CDATA[South Sumatra Health Profile (2023): The rate of exclusive breastfeeding in South Sumatra in 2023 was 68.9%, up from 66.3% the previous year. The regency/city with the highest exclusive breastfeeding coverage is Palembang City at 68.9%, while the lowest is Prabumulih City at 39.8%. In Musi Rawas Regency, the coverage of exclusive breastfeeding in 2021 was 54.1%, in 2022 it was 81%, but in 2023 it decreased to 65%. The objective of this study is to determine the effect of education on the importance of breastfeeding on mothers’ motivation to breastfeed in the service area of the Selangit Musi Rawas Community Health Center in 2025. The research method used is a quasi-experimental study employing a one-group pretest-posttest design. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling, with a sample size of 15 participants. The results of the univariate analysis showed that most respondents (53.3%) had low motivation before the intervention, while most respondents (73.3%) had high motivation after the intervention. The results of the bivariate Wilcoxon test analysis indicated that education on the importance of breastfeeding influenced mothers’ motivation to breastfeed. Education on the importance of breastfeeding has an effect on mothers’ motivation to breastfeed in the Selangit Musi Rawas Community Health Center (Puskesmas) service area in 2025. The researchers recommend that the Puskesmas be more active in implementing health education programs regarding breastfeeding, whether through prenatal classes, integrated health service posts (posyandu), or individual breastfeeding counseling.]]>
