The increasing air traffic growth in the Jakarta Flight Information Region (FIR) demands efficiency and reliability of aviation communication systems. Controller-Pilot Data Link Communications (CPDLC) is a data-based communication system implemented at the Jakarta Air Traffic Service Center (JATSC) to reduce radio frequency congestion and improve service efficiency. However, the use of CPDLC may affect Air Traffic Controller (ATC) workload, particularly in managing data messages simultaneously with voice communication and traffic surveillance. This study aims to analyze ATC workload in the use of CPDLC at JATSC West Sector and identify the influencing factors. The research employs a quantitative descriptive method with an associative approach. Mental workload measurement is conducted using the National Aeronautics and Space Administration Task Load Index (NASA-TLX) method, while operational data is analyzed based on traffic volume and CPDLC usage frequency in the West Sector. The analysis results are expected to provide an overview of ATC workload levels and the influence of CPDLC usage on workload. This research is also expected to contribute to the development of operational procedures and human resource management within the Air Navigation Service Provider (ANSP) environment to enhance safety and efficiency of air traffic services in the Jakarta FIR.
