A study for development of carbon materials from coconut shell’s pyrolisis has beenconducted. The research aimed to study the utilization of polivinyl alcohol (PVA) asstimulant in charcoal enhancement through carbon material physicochemical properties.Calcination, mixing and high temperature sintering applied on the carbon technologyprocess. X-ray difraction analysis method (XRD), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM),Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy (EDS) for analyzed crystal structure as well as surfacetopography in the form of microstructure and carbon material substance analysis. Productcharacteristics of the carbon material showed changes of its character where changes inphysicochemical properties from amorf charcoal into carbon with semi-crystallinestructure.
