<![CDATA[This research is based on the economic situation faced by fishing communities, whose income is unstable due to seasonal influences, weather fluctuations, ocean currents, and the number of fish caught. This situation has prompted fishing families to develop various strategies to maintain and improve their economic situation. This study aims to analyze strategies to improve the economic situation of fishermen families in the tourist area of Gandoriahh Beach, Pariaman. This research uses a qualitative descriptive approach, collecting data through field observations, in-depth interviews, documents, and field notes. The research sample consisted of two fishermen and the wife of one of them, who is also a trader in the Gandoriahh Beach tourist area. The results of the study showed that fisher families implemented various economic strategies, including diversifying sources of income through side jobs, involving family members in economic activities, and managing finances through savings. In addition, the existence of the Gandoriah Beach tourist area has provided new economic opportunities for coastal communities through trade and tourism services. However, these economic benefits are not evenly distributed due to the decline in the number of visitors due to the COVID-19 pandemic. These results show that fishing communities have a dynamic ability to adapt to economic instability in coastal areas. ]]>
