This study aims to determine the effect of animated video media on short story comprehension among fourth-grade students at SDN 62 Lompo Panincong, Soppeng Regency. A quantitative pre-experimental One Group Pretest-Posttest design was employed with a total sample of 13 fourth-grade students. Data were collected through a pretest, a treatment using animated video media, a posttest, and a student activity observation sheet, then analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics (Shapiro-Wilk normality test and paired sample t-test) via SPSS 26.0. The mean pretest score of 62.77 increased to 84.85 at posttest. Both datasets were normally distributed (Sig. = 0.286 and 0.316). The paired sample t-test yielded t = -7.122 with Sig. (2-tailed) = 0.000 < 0.05, so H0 was rejected and H1 accepted. Student activity during learning reached the very good category (87.5%). It is concluded that animated video media significantly affects short story comprehension among fourth-grade students.
