This study aims to identify and analyze humanism values contained in the novel Bandit-Bandit Berkelas by Tere Liye through a sociology of literature approach. Humanism values are a significant aspect in literary works as they reflect interpersonal relations within a social context. This study employs a descriptive qualitative method, using Abraham Maslow's hierarchy of needs theory as the analytical framework for humanism values, and Ian Watt's sociology of literature theory to examine the social dimensions of the work. Data consisting of text excerpts containing humanism values were collected through reading and note-taking techniques and analyzed interpretively. The results indicate that the novel contains four humanism values: (1) cooperation, (2) willingness to sacrifice, (3) care for others, and (4) mutual assistance. These values reflect harmonious social relations among characters that are rich in humanitarian meaning, while also mirroring social realities as understood through the sociology of literature approach. These findings contribute to the development of value-based literary appreciation and can be utilized as Indonesian language learning materials at the secondary and tertiary levels.
