<![CDATA[Introduction: Physical activity is one of the factors that affect blood sugar levels in patients with diabetes mellitus. Decreased blood glucose caused by increased active muscle use. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between physical activity and random blood sugar levels in elderly patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. The location of this study was at PKU Muhammadiyah Gamping Hospital. Methods: The study was conducted quantitatively correlationally with a cross-sectional study approach. The sampling method used accidental sampling with the Slovin formula, obtaining a sample size of 75 respondents based on inclusion and exclusion criteria. Results: The results showed that the majority of respondents had poor random blood sugar levels as many as 33 people (44%) and high physical activity as many as 36 people (48.0%). While respondents with high physical activity mostly had normal random blood sugar as many as 23 people (63.9%). The results of the Kendall Tau test showed that P = 0.000 (p <0.05) so Ho was rejected and Ha was accepted. Conclusion: The conclusion of this study is that there is a relationship between physical activity and random blood sugar levels in elderly patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus at PKU Muhammadiyah Gamping Hospital. The closeness value obtained is -0.536, which means that both variables have a moderate relationship strength with a negative relationship direction. High physical activity has the potential to reduce blood sugar levels in elderly DM patients.]]>
