<![CDATA[This study explores the meaning of servant leadership as demonstrated by Jesus in John 13:1- 20 and its relevance to enhancing the professionalism of Christian Religious Education (CRE) teachers in the present context. Employing a qualitative method through a biblical-exegetical approach combined with literature review, the study reveals that Jesus’ act of washing His disciples’ feet embodies humility, sacrifice, and love—the core elements of servant leadership. These values play a crucial role in shaping the character, work ethic, and competencies of CRE teachers. Beyond mastering subject matter, CRE teachers are expected to exemplify integrity, empathy, and commitment in guiding students toward spiritual maturity and Christian character development. The study recommends the integration of Jesus’ servant leadership principles into CRE teacher education and training, as well as their consistent application in daily teaching, thereby fostering a holistic professionalism that encompasses academic, spiritual, and ethical dimensions.]]>
