Abstract

Every local church should be able to achieve financial independence. The goal is to have funds to carry out physical development such as church buildings, pastors, procurement of musical instruments, vehicles, and other church facilities. In addition, church finances can be used for the welfare of the pastor and also help members of the congregation who are less fortunate. The author conducted research in GKII, Binjai District, Sintang Regency because he saw churches in this sub-district on average have independence in the financial sector. The title of the research in connection with this is BPJ's Strategy in Improving the Finances of GKII, Binjai District, Sintang Regency in 2023. In conducting this research, the researcher used a mixed sequential explanatory method. Data collection was carried out through questionnaires, observations and interviews. The results showed that there were 57.1% of the Church Management Board in GKII, Binjai District, Sintang Regency that had a strategy in increasing church finances, and 77.1% of Local’s Chuch Leader  said that the church's finances were in a surplus.

Abstract

The theory of evolution is a theory that is quite popular in society, especially among students — starting from junior high school to public universities. Although the author of this theory, Darwin, is no longer around and has even revoked this theory, this theory continues to develop and become an applied science in schools and society. It can say that like an epidemic virus, the doctrine of evolutionary theory is known by almost everyone and indoctrinates many people. The impact harms believers, especially those who lack faith, poisoning hearts and minds and weakening the spirit of faith. Thus, there is a need for special handling in overcoming the impact of this theory of evolution, especially among believers who believe that God is the creator. In this scientific work, the author also discusses how Darwin made his theory and how he and his followers formulated this theory. This scientific work explains the existence of human creation, that humans are handmade by God, created in the image and likeness of God, and have absolutely nothing to do with evolution. This scientific work wants to discuss the existence of humans who are God's creations, handmade by God himself, and created without going through any evolutionary process. The author seeks to prevent the impact of the detribalization of this theory in public education, particularly Christian educators ranging from non-formal education to formal education. In addition, it is also to members of the Church or congregations that range from children's education to spiritual teaching to adults by explaining some of the efforts that Christian educators can make in dealing with the teaching of evolution. Thus, this paper is expected to neutralize the impact of the doctrinalization of the theory. At the very least, Christian educators can use this scientific work to guide teaching about creation.

Abstract

The Church which is a fellowship of believers in Jesus Christ is presented and is in the midst of a wider community environment.  In social life, the church interacts and is also in a social system in which there is a socio-political mandate as the church's vocation.  The question is how and in what way should the church be involved and take part in the implementation of the socio-political mandate?  So that the presence and existence of the church can provide a role in realizing the three tasks of the church in the midst of social and political life.  In answering this call, one of the roles that can be given by the church is to be involved in the field of education and improving the quality of human resources in the environment where the church is located.  Both from the basic level and up to a higher level.  Especially in building or improving the education of church members.  By empowering its citizens so they can take part in social and political life, building a nation where the church has been placed by God.  Develop and maximize education to form the right character and have a "builder" spirit to build the nation, build the country, and prosper social and political life in the midst of society.

Abstract

Drug abuse is a worldwide problem that adversely affects all groups, including adults and adolescents. Drug abuse can also occur among adolescents. This then requires serious handling by all parties involved. The purpose of this study was to determine the forms of spiritual care used for adolescent victims of drug abuse. Praying, reading the Bible, meditating together. There are other ways to do this, such as lectures and questions and answers. The author used a qualitative approach, where information gathering techniques were used through interviews. The results of this study show that adolescents who want to encourage their spiritual growth are more likely to be adopted. People who are seriously treated with spiritual healing are less likely to abuse drugs and engage in spiritual activities.

Abstract

A happy Christian household is a situation where a husband and wife live a married life based on the principles of the Christian faith, and have a close relationship with God, and love and support one another. A happy Christian home describes several important elements that form the basis for building and maintaining healthy and happy relationships. The core principles underlying a happy Christian home are a solid relationship with God, where partners engage in spiritual activities together such as prayer, reading the Bible, and worshiping together. The depth of faith and awareness of God's love is a strong foundation for living a married life. Moreover, deep love characterizes a happy Christian home. Husband and wife love each other sincerely and treat each other with respect, accepting each other's strengths and weaknesses. They are ready to make sacrifices for the good of their partner, making Christ's love the prime example in their relationship. Effective communication is another important element. Partners listen to each other attentively, speak with honesty and tenderness, and seek deep understanding from each other. Good communication helps to handle conflict wisely and prevent misunderstandings that damage relationships. Forgiveness and reconciliation are manifestations of love lived in a happy Christian household. Couples learn to forgive each other and seek reconciliation after conflicts or mistakes. They understand that forgiveness is an integral part of the Christian faith and correcting mistakes and rebuilding trust.

Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to clearly know about the functions and duties of the vicar office in the Indonesian Evangelical Mission Church (GMII) whose position is clearly stated in the Basic Rules and Household Procedures as a benchmark in its implementation in the field. This study uses a qualitative method through reviewing the documents owned so as to produce data in the form of written and oral words. From the results of this study it is illustrated that the position of vicar is a position that has the same position as the position of Pastor or pastor of the congregation so that in carrying out its duties and functions a vicar can also occupy the role of administrator in one of the organizational structures of GMII in the form of a Regional Assembly at a certain level of service area. Based on its position in the TD and TRT of GMII, the position of Vicar is an integral part of the GMII structure.

Abstract

The farming tradition of the Dayak Kebahan tribe in Typhoon Village is a traditional farming practice carried out by the Dayak Kebahan people in Kayan Hulu District, Sintang Regency. This tradition reflects the close relationship between the Dayak tribe and nature and the cultural heritage passed down from their ancestors. The farming tradition of the Dayak Kebahan involves an annual cycle that includes land preparation, planting, plant maintenance, and harvesting. This process usually involves the participation of community members from different families who work together to prepare and manage their fields. The Dayak Kebahan use a rotational farming system, in which they change the location of their fields after several years of use to allow time for the soil to recover. This practice is carried out to maintain the balance of the ecosystem and ensure the sustainability of food production. In addition, they also combine the use of plants with a system of shade trees that help maintain soil moisture and reduce erosion. Aside from being a source of food, the farming tradition of the Dayak Kebahan tribe also has strong cultural and social values. This practice is an important moment to strengthen the relationship between community members, by helping each other in field preparation, planting, and harvesting activities. Apart from that, this tradition is also an opportunity to preserve the cultural values ​​of the Dayak tribe, such as togetherness, mutual cooperation, and mutual respect.

Abstract

Pendidikan orang tua merupakan fondasi utama dalam pembentukan karakter anak, baik di lingkungan keluarga maupun dalam kehidupan bergereja. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pola pendidikan orang tua terhadap pembentukan karakter anak di gereja. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif, data diperoleh melalui studi literatur dan wawancara dengan beberapa keluarga Kristen yang aktif dalam pelayanan gereja. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pola pendidikan orang tua yang konsisten dengan nilai-nilai Alkitab, seperti teladan hidup, disiplin rohani, komunikasi yang sehat, serta keterlibatan anak dalam pelayanan gereja, berperan signifikan dalam membentuk karakter anak yang takut akan Tuhan, bertanggung jawab, dan memiliki integritas. Sebaliknya, pola pendidikan yang permisif atau otoriter tanpa kasih cenderung menghambat pertumbuhan karakter anak secara rohani maupun sosial. Oleh karena itu, gereja diharapkan dapat bersinergi dengan keluarga dalam mendampingi anak. Penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa keluarga adalah sekolah pertama dan utama dalam membentuk generasi yang berkarakter Kristus.

Abstract

This study explores the meaning of servant leadership as demonstrated by Jesus in John 13:1- 20 and its relevance to enhancing the professionalism of Christian Religious Education (CRE) teachers in the present context. Employing a qualitative method through a biblical-exegetical approach combined with literature review, the study reveals that Jesus’ act of washing His disciples’ feet embodies humility, sacrifice, and love—the core elements of servant leadership. These values play a crucial role in shaping the character, work ethic, and competencies of CRE teachers. Beyond mastering subject matter, CRE teachers are expected to exemplify integrity, empathy, and commitment in guiding students toward spiritual maturity and Christian character development. The study recommends the integration of Jesus’ servant leadership principles into CRE teacher education and training, as well as their consistent application in daily teaching, thereby fostering a holistic professionalism that encompasses academic, spiritual, and ethical dimensions.

Abstract

Dalam penulisan artikel ini dibahas tentang kajian etis-teologis berkaitan dengan pendeta yang melakukan kegiatan bisnis. Fenomena ini menjadi semakin relevan di tengah tantangan ekonomi dan dinamika pelayanan masa kini, khususnya dalam konteks gereja-gereja lokal yang belum mampu menjamin kesejahteraan penuh bagi pelayan-pelayannya. Artikel ini menyoroti aspek motivasi, integritas, dan dampak pelayanan yang mungkin timbul dari keterlibatan pendeta dalam usaha ekonomi. Secara teologis, kegiatan bisnis oleh pendeta dianalisis melalui sudut pandang etika Kristen dan pemikiran A. A. Sitompul dalam karya Etika Kristen: Refleksi Moral dalam Konteks Kehidupan, serta didukung oleh dasar Alkitabiah dari Kisah Para Rasul 18:3 yang menunjukkan bagaimana Paulus tetap bekerja sambil melayani. Penulisan ini menggunkan metode kualitatif dengan kajian dari sudut pandang etika yang bertujuan untuk menunjukkan bahwa selama bisnis dijalankan dengan etika yang benar, motivasi yang murni, dan tidak menggeser prioritas pelayanan, maka keterlibatan tersebut dapat diterima sebagai bagian dari tanggung jawab hidup yang kontekstual dan bermartabat.
