This study is motivated by the increasing role of animated films as a medium of cultural communication that functions not only as entertainment but also as a tool for shaping moral values in society. The research aims to analyze the construction of moral values in Indonesian animated films using a semiotic approach by Roland Barthes, focusing on Battle of Surabaya and Si Juki The Movie. This study employs a qualitative method with semiotic analysis examining meanings at the levels of denotation, connotation, and myth. Data were collected through observation of scenes, dialogues, and visual elements, and analyzed interpretatively. The findings reveal that moral values such as courage, sacrifice, nationalism, honesty, and social criticism are constructed through a complex system of signs. Battle of Surabaya represents historically rooted and collective moral values, while Si Juki The Movie presents a more critical and contextually adaptive moral perspective reflecting contemporary social realities. Therefore, Indonesian animated films play a significant role as a medium for moral education and the development of social awareness.
