Advances in information technology have become a key factor driving significant changes in various aspects of human life, including communication, work, and data management. From a historical perspective, information technology has undergone a long evolution that began with simple tools such as the abacus, then developed into computing machines, until entering the digital era marked by the presence of the internet and artificial intelligence. This study aims to examine the dynamics of information technology development from a historical point of view and its implications for human civilization. The method used is a qualitative approach through literature study by examining various scientific sources such as books, journals, and related documents. The results of the study show that the development of information technology has taken place gradually but continuously, which can be classified into several phases, namely the manual, mechanical, electronic, and digital eras. Each stage has made an important contribution to improving efficiency, speed, and accuracy in information processing. In addition, these advances have also accelerated the process of globalization and encouraged the occurrence of digital transformation in various fields of life. Thus, it can be concluded that the dynamics of information technology development not only reflect technological progress alone, but also serve as the main catalyst in social and cultural changes in modern society
