Abstract

Spinal anesthesia is a regional anesthesia technique that may cause hemodynamic changes due to sympathetic nerve blockade, such as hypotension, decreased mean arterial pressure (MAP), and changes in heart rate during the intraoperative period. This study aimed to describe the intraoperative hemodynamic status of patients receiving spinal anesthesia at RST Tk. III 04.06.01 Wijayakusuma Purwokerto. This study employed a quantitative descriptive design with a cross-sectional approach involving 87 patients who underwent surgery under spinal anesthesia. Data were collected through observation at minute 0, 5, 10, 15, and at the end of surgery, and were analyzed descriptively using frequency distribution, percentages, mean, and standard deviation. The results showed that most respondents were aged 18–25 years (29.9%), male (66.7%), and underwent moderate surgery (52.9%). The highest incidence of hypotension occurred at the 10th minute (17.2%), accompanied by low MAP (5.7%) and bradycardia (5.7%). Mean systolic blood pressure, MAP, and heart rate decreased from the 5th to the 10th minute, then increased again until the end of surgery. Oxygen saturation and respiratory rate remained within normal limits throughout the intraoperative period. These findings highlight the importance of continuous hemodynamic monitoring during spinal anesthesia to support early detection of instability and timely clinical management for patient safety.
