Anxiety disorders are a global mental health issue affecting approximately 301 million people worldwide. In Indonesia, the prevalence of anxiety disorders reaches 9.8% in the general population and exceeds 30% to 70% among university students. One of the triggering factors is the high intensity of social media use, which risks causing psychological distress and anxiety due to continuous exposure to information flow. The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship between the intensity of social media use and anxiety levels among students at the Faculty of Technology and Business (FTB), Universitas Yatsi Madani (UYM) in 2026. This study used a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design. Data collection was conducted on 128 respondents using a stratified random sampling technique from an accessible population of 188 students. Data were analyzed using the Spearman Rank correlation test. Based on the research results, the majority of respondents were in the moderate social media intensity category, totaling 73 students (57.0%), and the extremely severe anxiety level category, totaling 85 students (66.4%). The Spearman Rank test showed a p-value < 0.001 (p < 0.05) with a correlation coefficient of 0.471. Therefore, there is a significant relationship with a moderate correlation level between social media intensity and anxiety levels among FTB UYM students in 2026. Students are expected to be wiser in controlling social media usage duration, and the university administration is advised to provide education on time management and mental health.
