This study involves designing a versatile machine that integrates cassava slicing and drying in a single system. The development of this device was driven by the need for home-based industry operators to enhance work efficiency and production capacity, particularly in the processing of cassava into chips. The design process employed the Pahl & Beitz method, comprising conceptual design, concept analysis, and concept selection phases. The subsequent stage incorporated Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DFMA) principles, the implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and various manufacturing processes. This integrated cassava slicing and drying machine is expected to provide a practical solution for improving operational efficiency and product quality. Design results indicate that the slicing unit, equipped with a 220 mm blade, achieves a production capacity of 14 kg/hour. The collection container has a volume of 6,666 cm³ with a 7 kg capacity, while the drying unit is designed to process 7 kg of cassava using an 800-watt blower heater operating at 230°C. The dryer can reduce the moisture content of 7 kg of cassava from 70% to 14% in 5.11 hours, powered by two 0.25 HP electric motors.
