According to the Indonesian Social Security Administration for Employment (BPJS Ketenagakerjaan), there were 580 occupational accidents in Aceh Province in 2024. Occupational accidents are still a major issue in the industrial sector. The low adherence of employees to the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is one contributing factor. The purpose of this study is to examine the link between PPE compliance and knowledge, attitude, availability, and comfort. A complete sampling approach was utilized to choose a sample of 52 employees for this quantitative cross-sectional study. Questionnaires and observations were used to gather data, which were then analyzed using logistic regression for multivariate analysis, chi-square tests for bivariate analysis, and univariate analysis to explain variable frequency distributions. Knowledge (p=0.030), attitude (p=0.006), and the availability of PPE (p=0.028) were shown to be significantly correlated. With an odds ratio (OR) of 6.462 and a p-value of 0.011, attitude was the most important factor. In conclusion, there is a connection between worker PPE compliance and knowledge, attitude, availability, and comfort. Attitude is the main element affecting compliance. Therefore, in order to increase PPE compliance in the workplace, enterprises are obliged to adopt continuous monitoring, guarantee the provision of ergonomic and pleasant PPE, and strengthen educational efforts through ongoing safety discussions held by the SHE department.
