Limited access to reading materials and the absence of literacy spaces close to children's residential environments remain challenges in supporting children's reading activities. This condition was also identified in Dapur Arang, Tanjung Sari Village, Belakang Padang District, highlighting the need for an alternative literacy space that children can access outside the school environment. This community service program aimed to implement a community-based reading corner at Mangrove Posyandu as a space that provides access to reading materials while supporting children's engagement in literacy activities. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed, with data collected through interviews, observation, and documentation. The program consisted of four stages: identifying conditions and needs, planning and organizing the reading corner, implementation and utilization, and evaluation and sustainability strengthening. The program resulted in the establishment of a reading corner containing more than 100 books, including fairy tales, novels, history, and educational books. During its initial utilization, approximately 5–7 children showed positive responses by selecting books, reading, gathering, and interacting in the reading space. Posyandu members, the neighborhood leader, parents, and local residents were also involved in supporting the program's continued management. These findings indicate that the reading corner not only provides a physical literacy facility but also creates opportunities for children's literacy engagement and encourages community participation in sustaining the program.
