Video content on the Semarang City Communication Assistance (BANKOM) Instagram account previously faced limitations regarding narrative quality and technical aspects—specifically in the application of storytelling, calls-to-action, creative captions, and interactive features. This community service initiative aimed to enhance the technical and strategic competencies of BANKOM members in producing video content to serve as a more effective medium for public communication. The program was conducted over one month across four sessions, encompassing observation, outreach, training, mentoring, and evaluation. The material covered video content concepts, smartphone filming techniques, visual composition, lighting, audio, storytelling, basic editing, captions, hashtags, Reels, Stories, and calls-to-action. Results indicated a 70% improvement in participants' cognitive competencies and skills. Furthermore, the content became more structured, coherent, communicative, and interactive. Monitoring of the partner account also revealed an increase in views and user engagement. These findings confirm that practice-based training combined with ongoing mentoring effectively strengthens BANKOM members' digital communication competencies, while also supporting the dissemination of public information that is more engaging, relevant, responsive, and accessible.
