Mental disorders are maladaptive responses to internal and external stressors that disrupt cognition, emotion, behavior, and social, occupational, and physical functioning. One manifestation is the risk of violent behavior, which may harm the self, others, or the environment and is characterized by verbal threats, aggressive behavior, muscle tension, and rigid posture. This case study aimed to determine nursing care for patients with mental disorders through the implementation of Progressive Muscle Relaxation (PMR) to reduce signs and symptoms in patients at risk of violent behavior. Using a pre-experimental one-group pretest–posttest design, PMR was administered once daily for three consecutive days, with each session lasting 25–30 minutes. After the intervention, reductions in signs and symptoms were observed in all clients: Client 1 decreased from 9 (64,2%) to 2 (7,14%), Client 2 from 7 (50%) to 2(14,3%), and Client 3 from 6 (42%) to 1 (7,14%) These findings suggest that PMR may help reduce signs and symptoms associated with the risk of violent behavior.
