<![CDATA[This study aims to analyze the influence of smartphone usage on the learning interest of 8th-grade students in Social Studies (IPS) at SMP Negeri 7 Ternate City. A quantitative research method with a correlational design was employed. The study population consisted of 384 students, with a sample of 79 students selected using simple random sampling based on Slovin's formula. Data were collected through questionnaires tested for validity and reliability and documentation. Data analysis utilized descriptive statistics and simple linear regression. The results indicate a calculated t-value of 0.998, which is less than the t-table value of 1.991, with a significance level of 0.321 (greater than 0.05). The Coefficient of Determination (R²) was 0.013. This indicates that smartphone usage contributes only 1.3% to Social Studies learning interest, while the remaining 98.7% is influenced by factors outside the scope of this study. In conclusion, there is no significant influence of smartphone usage on the learning interest of 8th-grade students in Social Studies at SMP Negeri 7 Ternate City.]]>
