The Main Cooling Water Pump (MCWP) is a critical component in Combined Cycle Power Plant (CCPP) operations. In conventional systems, the pump motor runs at a fixed speed, and flow/pressure adjustments are made using throttle valves, leading to significant electrical energy waste. This study aims to analyze the implementation of a Variable Speed Drive (VSD) on the 828 kW MCWP 05 motor to replace mechanical valve regulation. Based on operational testing from August 23, 2025, to October 29, 2025 (2 months 6 days), the VSD integration achieved electricity cost savings of IDR 1.257 billion against an initial capital expenditure of IDR 4.5 billion. Financial feasibility analysis indicates a Payback Period (PBP) of approximately 6 months of operation. These findings imply that digitalizing induction motor speed control significantly improves both operational and financial efficiency in power plant cooling systems.
