In Islamic boarding schools (pesantren), the Nyai plays a pivotal role in shaping students' character and preserving the institution's educational culture. However, empirical studies examining female leadership in pesantren from the perspective of a humanistic strict parenting approach remain notably limited. This study aims to analyze the Nyai's leadership style through a humanistic strict parenting framework and evaluate its contribution to santri character development. Employing a qualitative case study design, this research was conducted at the Tahfidzul Qur'an Al-Hadi Pesantren in the Al-Hamra Complex, Yogyakarta. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, participatory observation, and documentation involving six key informants, including the Nyai, school administrators, and santri. The collected data were analyzed iteratively through data reduction, categorization, matrix display, and source triangulation to ensure credibility. The findings demonstrate that the Nyai's leadership successfully integrates firm adherence to principles and structural discipline with a humanistic, communicative, and exemplary (uswah hasanah) approach. Consistent supervision, structured routines, and delegated responsibilities effectively cultivate santri's discipline, obedience, responsibility, independence, and moral integrity without causing psychological pressure.
