Abstract

This study aims to explore the role of student affairs management programs in improving student achievement at school. Effective management of student programs can facilitate the development of students’ potential, both in academic and non-academic fields, to achieve optimal performance. This research employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive study method at SMA Negeri 1 Kawali and SMK Negeri 1 Kawali. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with principals, supervising teachers, and selected students, as well as direct observations of programs conducted by the student affairs unit. The findings indicate that well-managed student programs, including the planning of extracurricular activities and the regular monitoring and evaluation of student achievement, have a positive impact on the improvement of students’ non-academic performance. In addition, parental support and student involvement in the planning and evaluation process of student affairs activities were found to strengthen program effectiveness. This study concludes that integrated and structured student affairs management can enhance both student achievement and learning outcomes, which in turn contributes to better overall performance. The recommendations of this research are directed to schools, supervising teachers, and parents to strengthen synergy in developing student programs, as well as to the government as a policymaker to provide adequate facilities and infrastructure support.
