Hypertension is a non-communicable disease with a high prevalence that contributes significantly to the risk of cardiovascular diseases. This problem is also found in rural communities due to limited access to healthcare services, low routine blood pressure monitoring, and insufficient knowledge regarding hypertension prevention. Indonesia has abundant local herbal resources containing bioactive compounds with potential antihypertensive effects. However, their utilization remains limited due to inadequate knowledge regarding plant identification, processing methods, and safety aspects. This community service program aims to improve the knowledge and skills of the people in Ko'mara Village, Takalar Regency, in utilizing local herbal plants as antihypertensive functional beverages. The activities include education on hypertension and rational herbal utilization, training on herbal processing into functional beverage products, and guidance on safe usage. This program is expected to increase community awareness in preventing hypertension while optimizing local resources into value-added health products. Through a pharmaceutical science-based and community empowerment approach, this activity is expected to support sustainable improvement of public health and community independence.
