Background: Endophytic fungi are considered promising sources of novel bioactive compounds with diverse pharmacological activities, including antimicrobial, antioxidant, and anticancer effects. Among these fungi, Ceratobasidium sp. has attracted growing interest due to its metabolic diversity, although its bioactive potential remains insufficiently explored. Objective: This review aimed to evaluate the potential of secondary metabolites derived from Ceratobasidium sp. based on isolation studies and biological activity assessments. Methods: A narrative scoping review was conducted using literature retrieved from Google Scholar, PubMed, and ScienceDirect databases. Eligible studies included published journal articles and master's thesis manuscripts between 2005 and 2025. Results: Twelve studies met the inclusion criteria. Several Ceratobasidium sp. isolates demonstrated antibacterial activity against Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus, antifungal activity against Candida albicans and Aspergillus niger, and cytotoxic effects against A549, MCF-7, and HeLa cell lines. Identified metabolites included 4-methoxycinnamate, farnesol, benzoic acid, cyclopeptides, and saturated fatty acids, which exhibited antiproliferative, antioxidant, and enzyme-modulating mechanisms. Conclusion: Ceratobasidium sp. shows promising potential as a source of bioactive secondary metabolites with antibacterial, antifungal, and anticancer activities. Nevertheless, the available evidence remains limited, and further studies are required to confirm these findings and evaluate their relevance for pharmaceutical development.
