Low public awareness of and adherence to traffic signs is frequently linked to the rising frequency of traffic accidents. The utilization of traditional learning materials, which are uninteresting and stagnant, exacerbates this problem. In order to facilitate the understanding of prohibited traffic signs, this study creates an Augmented Reality (AR) application for Android. The Multimedia Development Life Cycle (MDLC) technique is used in the research and development (R&D) process. In order to increase user comprehension, AR is utilized to convert static signage into interactive 3D visuals. According to test results, the system achieves 100% marker identification accuracy at a distance of 10–20 cm, reliable tracking at viewing angles between 0° and 90°, and consistent rendering in 10–200 lux of light. So, the AR app that was created can be a good and engaging way to help people better understand traffic signs that tell you what you can't do, and it can also help make road safety education more effective.
